2011 Educational Scholarship Winner - Dominique David

The recipient of the 2011 BBPW Educational Scholarship for Career Advancement is Dominique David.  At age 28, Dominique is a talented and intelligent young woman who describes herself as Caribbean-American, Native, Hispanic, African and East-European.  She has triumphed over a difficult background and is the first in her family at attend college.  She is earning her Bachelors degree at MSU in Liberal Arts focusing on Environmental and Native Studies while being a committed new mother.  She has a background of volunteer and paid work involved with educational and therapeutic programs for Native Americans, children and the disabled.  Her career objective is to work for a local organization to provide community/youth education on Native plant use and cultural ecological history.  The Scholarship award for 2011 is $1,350 and a free one year membership with Bozeman BPW.

2011 Educational Scholarship Finalists

Two Scholarship finalists received free one year memberships with Bozeman BPW.  The 2011 scholarship finalists are Jodi Kunesh, an MSU student in Business and Accounting who hopes to get her CPA designation and work with small businesses, and Kelsey Miller, an MSU student in Mechanical Engineering who will be entering the Air Force upon graduation and hopes to earn her PhD and develop advanced prosthetic devices for amputees.
